Join the Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund as we welcome author Shoshanna Ehrlich for a conversation about her new book, Abortion Regret: The New Attack on Reproductive Freedom, which explores the emergence of the concept of “abortion regret,” a narrative utilized by anti-abortion activists that perpetuates stigma. We’ll talk about the ways in which this dangerous narrative, which has been embraced by the Supreme Court, reinforces deeply gendered and religiously-infused understandings of women’s true place in the created order. Ehrlich, a former lawyer and current professor of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at the University of Massachusetts Boston, has been a dedicated advocate of abortion access and has extensively published on the legal regulation of sexuality and reproduction, with a focus on the rights of teens. In addition to talking to Shoshanna about her new book, we'll also discuss ways we in Massachusetts can take action to help remove barriers to care.
